The project file for this song got corrupted and so I wasn't able to fully complete this song. I feel like the resulting song is still worth sharing though; I intend to re-write the song sometime in the future to give it the full weight I wanted it to have.

You might notice some quirks or oddities in the mixing or arrangement, such as the words being a bit hard to understand at times or the sudden introduction of the drop. I hope you might be able to enjoy the song for what it is, flaws and all: A successful attempt at introducing my own vocals to my work. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed composing!

This may or may not be a harbinger of what's to come ;) (Namely, more music with vocals!)

An instrumental MAY possibly be released later on if people show interest, but the project file is a nightmare to work with so It depends on how much people want one

Legends once had told of a terrible might
A world filled with awe inspiring sights
Chaotic as told
Ever unfolding reality's hold
Now all but forgotten is the fright

Eternity spent, trapped within a nightmare to keep them safe
Swept under the rug, forgotten by the faces that kept him sane
A creature ancient, terrible, now reduced to weathered garden art
A truly tragic parable, they had never sought to know his heart

To peer beneath the shell
To hear the whispered words
To search for meaning held
To understand the things that they had heard

A feeling inconsolable, dominating what he once had been
A loss incomprehensible, conflagrating all he was within

Tales tell of a soul, gentle loving kind, filled with warm concern
A soothing embrace, who took the time to listen, to know and learn
A light house beacon shining bright
Guiding wayward sailors safely home
A war that's won without a fight
Better method an apprentice shown

A grounding force for good
Benevolent and free
A secret understood
A pure chaotic harmony

And though all tales must end
Their stories live within
Their impact permanent
A faithful witness to the things they did

And when it's too hard to bare
And when our spirit fades
Their stories we will share
We'll bring to life the love that they had displayed

This album is a solid 7/10. I love the old-school music in there, but some of the songs just feel like random melodies plastered everywhere. This is the beginnings of Ponies At Dawn though, and their artists have improved massively over the years so I'm glad we still have a relic from their collection! cherriesarelit
